This WICKEDLY wonderful all-original vintage Hallowe'en pressed paper pulp Jack o' Lantern has great color, and one of the creepy-coolest expressions I have ever seen!
This American-made Jack was probably produced by Pulp Reproduction Company – which, by the way, used that actual name for their company, but this is NOT a newer reproduction! He was made in the 1930s or 1940s, and he retains his original paint, original paper insert, and his original wire bale handle as well.
Not counting that handle, he measures about 6” high. Pulp Reproduction Co. cut out holes on the underside to accommodate cardboard candleholders for a real wax candle. This Jack does have that cut out hole.
His color is that great, rich shade of old brownish-orange that we collectors adore, and he has an airbrushed green bottom with airbrushed black eyebrows and nose accents. His surface retains most of its wonderful sheen. His paper insert is in colors of old red, creamy white, golden yellow and navy blue.
