Do you have authentic vintage or antique holiday collectibles, dolls and accessories, or toys that you’d like to sell? I can help! Here are answers to some “Frequently Asked Questions” that help explain my consignment services:
How do you set your prices? I am very knowledgeable in my chosen areas of specialty. I constantly follow pricing trends on eBay and the major auction houses, use current reference materials, and communicate regularly with fellow collectors. I also work with you based on your investment in an item for sale, helping ensure you receive a positive return-on-investment whenever possible.
What if your recommended selling price is below what I’d like to see? While the values of most authentic vintage or antique collectibles tend to increase over time, there are always highs and lows in the market. You can trust that I will have your best interests at heart, and will provide an honest and realistic recommended selling price for your items.
What if I’d like to sell an item in an auction format, rather than a fixed price sale on your website? That’s easy! I can list your item on eBay. I’ve been active on eBay since 1999, and have been very active in selling since 2004. I am a Top Rated Plus Power Seller, and have 100% positive feedback.
What are your fees? I charge a 25% commission with a $10.00 minimum – plus any PayPal fees (between 5% and 8%), and any eBay fees for items sold on eBay. Here are some examples:
Do you charge me for packing materials when you ship my items? No! Boxes, tape, bubble wrap, Styrofoam peanuts, air bags, tissue paper, fragile stickers, etc. are my responsibility.
How long does it take to sell an item? That depends on many factors – an item’s desirability, its condition, its price, time of the year, and more. For certain rare items, I might even have a specific collector on my list of clients who will buy a sought-after piece immediately. For some items, months might go by before a sale.
What if an item hasn’t sold after several months? I’ll discuss the options with you – including reducing the price, selling it as part of a lot of multiple items, putting it up as an auction format on eBay, or pulling the item down from the website and returning it to you.
What if I would like a guaranteed, immediate sale? I can purchase the item – or an entire collection – by making a fair offer to you.
What if I would like you to sell an extra-high-value item? We can discuss possible reduced commission fees. Plus, I can create a “marketing plan” for an especially rare and high-value item – including “pay-per-click” advertising with Facebook/Instagram ads, Google AdWords, and Twitter Ads, as well as retargeting "reminder" banner ads and more.
Do you sell other antiques outside your areas of specialty? While I have sold a wide range of items in the past through my eBay account – sports memorabilia, china and glassware, collectible figurines, books, Civil War memorabilia, jewelry, original artwork, and much more – I have decided to focus on authentic vintage or antique holiday collectibles (primarily pre-1960s), dolls and accessories (primarily pre-World War One bisque-head dolls from France and Germany), and toys (primarily pre-1960s.)
